As all skin care professionals know, healthy skin is beautiful skin. When used with powerful serums either developed by Altair or created by a practitioner for their patient’s specific needs, the DT2 machine uses a potent combination of diamonds and powerful serums to restore skin to its optimal health. Like all Altair microdermabrasion systems, the DT2 Skin Resurfacing System can be used on virtually any part of the body.

How Do I Use The DT2 Skin Resurfacing System?

First, like with all microdermabrasions, the client’s skin must be cleansed of any impurities. Once the skin has been dried, the practitioner should survey the skin for any red spots or problem areas, and talk with the client to find out more information.

Once the practitioner has a good understanding of the client’s skin, they should do a test spot on the client’s jaw to test the level of suction, making sure the client is comfortable.

The next step is to pass the patented DiamondTome facial wand over the curves of the treatment area in gentle sweeping motions, without pressing down and moving in one direction. Some practitioners like to make a horizontal pass and then follow up with a vertical pass along the treatment area. During this process, the diamond chips in the DiamondTome wand will gently exfoliate the client’s skin and lighten any fine lines, sun damage and scars they may have.

From there, practitioners can customize skin infusion treatments using the Altair Hydro Wand®. Depending on the client’s skin care needs, practitioners may choose to administer a dose of multivitamins, brightening agents, or a deeply hydrating moisturizer. Because the diamond-based exfoliation prepares the skin to readily absorb the treatments, the specialized serums will penetrate more deeply, allowing for enhanced effectiveness.

How does this procedure work?

The industry-leading DT2 Skin Resurfacing System gently buffs the skin’s surface with natural diamond chips and vacuums away dead cells to smooth and soften the skin. This process also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the surface, which works to accelerate cellular turnover and encourage the growth of new collagen. This creates a healthier complexion from the inside out.

Once the exfoliation portion of the procedure is complete, practitioners administer a specialized serum using the versatile Hydro Wand. Serums deeply hydrate and nourish the skin, instantly improving its appearance and texture. Altair has a line of advanced HydroSerums that were designed to be seamlessly compatible with the Hydro Wand, but any skin serum of the practitioner's choosing can be used.

No Downtime For Busy Clients

Because our diamond exfoliation machine is so gentle, most patients experience no side effects. At the very most, they may see some minor redness in the treatment area, but it should disappear quickly.

In terms of results, it’s common for clients to notice visible results after their very first treatment with healthier-looking skin. However, for significant, lasting results, most will require several treatments spaced a couple of weeks apart, along with maintenance visits every few months moving forward.

Practitioners Take Note:

It’s important to note that our diamond tipped microdermabrasion machine isn’t the right approach for everyone. Patients with vascular lesions and active acne should avoid this treatment, as should pregnant women.

It’s also not ideal for individuals suffering from more severe skin issues, such as deep acne scars and heavy wrinkling, as those conditions will require a more intensive treatment. And finally, patients need to wait at least three weeks after a chemical peel or dermal fillers before undergoing diamond tip exfoliation with the DT2 Machine.
